So Jena, from Recently Roached put together this fun link-up today and at first I thought it would be really hard to choose just ONE picture but then I thought of it:

This picture.
This picture is now everywhere, it's on my phone, the desktop of my work computer, and in a frame at home.
This picture sums up this year pretty well for me.

This picture was taken on our first anniversary. Memories of our first year of marriage and our anniversary weekend fill my mind when I see it. That first year is so sweet, so special, and all so new. Making memories this year together, almost always by one another's side, has been the best part of 2013. The Lord has immensely blessed us. Getting to explore downtown OKC together and try new things on our anniversary weekend, was truly such a sweet, sweet, time together.

This picture has our sweet Paisley in it too. Though you can't see her precious face I love her in it. She's playing with a stick, one of her all time favorite "toys" and she's playing with us, our favorite. Paisley made this year ridiculously special for us. When Kevin and I think on 2013, we think of Paisley, oh how small she was! How we adopted her and brought her home. She brought us some tears, some angry moments, she created some arguments between us, but most of all she brought joy to our home in a new and incredibly wonderful way. We can never go back to being just Kevin and Veronica, we are now a family, as cheesy as that is. Because obviously if you've been reading this blog any time length, you realize she is not just a dog, she is our child.

This picture was taken by our wedding photographer who is awesome, and we're so glad to have her to count on for great pictures!

This picture was taken not too far from our home too, both old and new, and it's fun to drive by the site and think back to this moment.

This picture shows joy, love, and commitment to me. Our hands clasped, Paisley playing, the wind blowing, the sun setting, the casual atmosphere, the creation the Lord had made...all of it.

Who knew one picture could mean so much!

Camera HELP!

We made it!
We've been saving Christmas monies, some birthday monies and now we're ready! Ready to buy a nice camera!

We've gone back and forth so much, okay I've gone back and forth a lot. We started searching last night with the original intention for something a step down from a DSLR for a few reasons. First, I don't know that I'll ever learn a DSLR through and through, at least at this point. Second, the size of a DSLR, we wanted something a little on the smaller side. Third, I'm scared of a DSLR, haha, I realized that halfway through our searching. and Fourth, we don't really want to spend as much as a DSLR cost.

So through our searching/researching, we thought maybe a starter DSLR... and we landed on the Nikon D3100

Suggestions? Thoughts? Advice?

We're looking to spend less than $500

What camera do you have and why? What would you suggest to a starter-outer like us?

I'd love some help!!!

Best Friends' Wedding

This weekend you may have noticed me blowing up instagram with tons of pictures from the wedding Kevin and I were a part of. If you didn't, here's a glimpse into the wedding via our phones. Dear new camera, please make yourself known to us soon so we can purchase you.

As a couple, Kevin and I have witnessed a number of relationships grow but this one has always been a favorite. From unintentionally setting them up, to being a part of planning the proposal, to witnessing and playing a role in their wedding...we've been there through almost every step of the way and goodness has it been sweet! Through the valleys and through the mountain tops we've watched them grow together. We've been the ones they've come to in those trying times and the joyous ones. We've spent many Sundays cuddled up on the sofa together with football on (and by that I really mean the men on the sofa and the ladies crafting, then later sleeping on the sofa next to the men). They've been a part of the small group Kevin and I have lead. We've spent holidays together. And much of college was spent in one another's company. I speak for Kevin and I both when I say, it's been a complete blessing.

I can still remember that Friday, December night so long ago now. We had planned a big group outing to lights out in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Later in the evening, Kevin and I were watching a movie at his apartment when we found out that Trey and Lydia and another couple had gone off to watch a movie on their own. We were so confused at first. It wasn't something we had ever thought about. Through the Christmas break we watched and listened as their personalities seemed to connect more and more. And now, here we are, the Monday after their beautiful wedding day!

To Lydia and Trey, we love you both so very much. You have been our best friends and your friendship has meant the world to us. Your hearts for our relationship have always played a major role. Thank you for blessing us and for gifting us a friendship beyond any we could ever imagine.

To Trey, thank you for befriending Kevin that first year in college. Watching you guys become best friends has been so much fun. Thank you for the role I know you played in helping to shape Kevin into the man he is today. We probably wouldn't be where we are today without you. I appreciate and love you so much and I'm so incredibly happy that you met Lydia and pursued her!

To Lydia, my dear, you are so much more to me than simply my little in Phi Lamb. You are truly my sister in Christ and one of my very best friends. I remember picking you up from the dorms years ago and just beginning to learn about you. Though your heart went through some aching before Trey, I'm so glad you were able to grow through them. Watching you turn into a woman after God's heart, eager to shine His light in your home, and oh so ready to be the most precious wife, has been a true joy. Your friendship is something I hold close and don't take lightly. Thank you for allowing me to be so deeply invested in you and your relationship with Trey. I love you precious lady!

To you both, words cannot express what you mean to us and what this weekend was to us. The Lord has truly blessed our lives through you both. It may have been your special weekend but we loved every single moment maybe just as much as you. We are so honored to have been a part of your lovely, and so unbelievably perfect, wedding day. We are so overjoyed that yall have trusted God's leading in your relationship, worked through your troubles, learned to praise Him in the blessings and made a lifelong commitment in marriage to one another. We pray your honeymoon  is a time of rest and peace, that you aree able to simply enjoy time with one another. We pray your coming home will be safe and sweet. We are so excited to have you as a our married best friends! Here's to many future couple vacations! We love you!! Welcome to the married peoples club! Happy Newlwedness! -Kevin and Veronica

Fall/Winter Burns Wrap Up

It's currently the Saturday before Christmas as I sit here and type this. As you read this, it's the Friday after Christmas, the 27th, the day before our best friends get married. WOW! Where did fall go? Where did Christmas season go?
Blogging took a serious back burner over the last few months. Taking a big exam, moving, Kevin in Japan, applying for jobs, going to interviews, and taking a new job, birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas have kept this household seriously busy.
Since I didn't get to really blog about much of life, this is a little recap/wrap up post of some of the highlights I missed blogging about.

I went to my 6th phi lamb big/little surprise reveal night. WOW!
Made these for my great, great, grand littles ( I think that's right)

Elephants came to Journey Church and it was AWESOME and we definitely had a BLAST!

The elephants came back for Lifestream at church.

I said goodbye to my first work family. Read more here.

In my last few days of work I signed my first beam. So cool!

We got the keys to our new home on the very last day of the month!

And Paisley was of course was precious, as always.

See her birthday video, here.

Our small group did a corn maze.

I ran the color run with my SIL and Okie bloggers. LOVED it! Read more here.

And Kevin and I threw a shower for this sweet girl and her man that are getting married TOMORROW! Read more here.

Kevin and I took a date night to see About Time which was precious! We ate popcorn, pizza, candy and shared a drink at the theatre...we've never bought that much food in the theatre. I'm the sneak-the-candy-in-the-purse type.

We got snow!

Kevin was in Japan. See SOME of his pics here.

and Kevin came home from Japan

While Kevin was in Japan I got so much needed time with friends.

and began to adjust to my new job in the city

While Kevin was in Japan, I spent time with my mommy. We did the Historic Home tour in OKC with Holly. Read more here.

My mommy helped me paint this wall.

When Kevin got back we put things on the wall!

Fall made a brief visit in between moving.

My wedding dress took a prominent home in our new humongo closet room.

We made another adult purchase and got a stinkin awesome great deal on these:

Paisley adjust to life in the new home. And really enjoyed the empty places for a while.

Paisley took her first road trip with us to Dallas. We spent Thanksgiving there.

While in Dallas we spent time with one of our besties, KRISTINA!

Kristina introduced us to Christmas Magic at the Gaylord Texan

Kristina and Emily introduced me to the Magic Time Machine (too bad heart burn decided to attack me and I didn't get to fully enjoy the food and magical potion drink).

It snowed AGAIN on my birthday! We went sledding!

Kevin and I attended Christmas Spectacular for our third time!

We decorated for Christmas (see more on this on the Monday post from this week).

We had an ice storm!

I baked a pie for the first time ever!

The sunsets/sunrises have been glorious lately!

We attended my office Christmas party at the top of the Devon tower and it was so cool.

and Frank Lloyd Wright was part of my gift...oh joy

Paisley thought as much about 'ole Frank as I did

Paisley enjoyed the ice storm and snow and cuddling up on the sofa.

We had a Christmas party for our small group. It was a blast!

Kevin took Trey on his bachelor outing...to the shooting range.

And I saw this truck one day...can you tell what is tacked all over the back? Yes, you're seeing that correctly. Women's thongs/under wear.

Wow what a catch up! So what have I been missing in your life?
