High Five for Friday

Thank goodness it's Friday! It's been quite a long week in our office particularly and I'm happy it's just about over. Thank you Lord!

This morning I'm joining Lauren for High Five for Friday for the first time. I'm going twist it up a bit though, because my High Fives are all going to be Psalm 118:24. On my jog this morning, they talked (and by they I mean the people on the radio, I listen to the radio while I jog) about this  verse and I was reminded how joyful and thankful we should be for each morning. When that alarm goes off and I'm cranky, because for some reason work has invaded my sleep causing me to toss and turn, I will thank my Lord for the new day He has given me here on earth.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.- King James Version

This is the day the Lord has made.
    Let’s rejoice and be glad today! -God's Word Translation

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us be full of joy and be glad in it. - New Life Version

Thank you for responding to me;
    you’ve truly become my salvation!
The stone the masons discarded as flawed
    is now the capstone!
This is God’s work.
    We rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it!
This is the very day God acted—
    let’s celebrate and be festive!

Salvation now, God. Salvation now!
    Oh yes, God—a free and full life! - The Message (which of course this covers verses 21-25 as the message translates verses into chunks)

This day belongs to the Lord!
    Let’s celebrate
    and be glad today. - Contemporary English Version

The Bible comes in sooo many translations these days. People argue over which is closest, or more correct but yall these are the words the Lord has given us! And as you can see through all these five versions (some of which I'd never heard of till today), all five give us the same message: today is a new day, given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ and for His grace and mercy in giving it to us we should be joyful and celebrate His love for us!

And if that's not enough, a video of a precious girl singing the verse for you:

I found a few more, if you're interested in some little cowboys/cowgirls  working/singing/signing this song check this link out...but it you're more interested in Hillsong United Kids, which is always a fun version, check this link out.

The Lord has done it this very day;
    let us rejoice today and be glad.
Psalm 118:24
